United Way Day of Caring – October 2, 2010
The United Way Day of Caring is a national event put on every year by more than 1,300 United Way agencies around the country. It unites businesses with non-profits to complete one-day projects and was established to promote the spirit and value of volunteerism, increase the awareness of local human service agencies and schools, and demonstrate what people working together for the community's good can accomplish.
MJTB participated in the local Day of Caring held on October 2, 2010 in Indian River County. More than 350 area volunteers from local businesses and organizations participated in an effort to improve area parks and non-profit agencies. MJTB assisted the Redlands Christian Migrant Association by enhancing and maintaining the outside grounds at one of their childcare centers.
At MJTB, we have long supported the United Way by volunteering our time and resources to help build a strong, healthy and caring community. Some of the benefits of our involvement include a bolstering of team spirit among our employees, increased company morale, exposure in the community and a greater understanding of how commitment of time and money can make a difference.
